The 2023 Area Agency on Aging (AAA) Wellness Fair was a huge success!
Held in Columbus on May 12, the event saw over 600 senior citizens from all over the River Valley Region come to the Columbus Convention and Trade Center to participate in games, prize giveaways, lunch, and opportunities to learn more about various organizations in the area that serve their demographic.
Over 400 meals and 450 T-shirts commemorating the occasion were provided to participants during the four-hour event.
Funding for the Wellness Fair was provided, in part, by 20 AAA Partners and Sponsors, while over 50 vendors with operations in the River Valley Region came to educate participants about programs that support senior citizens.
At the conclusion of the fair, the AAA event’s organizer, Franetta Miles, said “This has been a really great day. We had so many volunteers and representatives from top-notch agencies in the area come together to ensure that everyone had a great time. It really means a lot to us that everyone was able to help out to make today’s fair so successful.”
“Most importantly,” Miles continued, “I know that the participants really appreciated all of the hard work. They had a lot of fun. That really means a lot to the senior citizens in our region.”
